Let's face it, aging doesn't just happen to your face.  In fact, changes to our vaginal tissue occurs not only as a result of aging, but also as a result of having children and changing hormones.  This can result in vaginal laxity, dryness, urinary incontinence, and reduced sexual sensation. We are proud to offer this non-invasive treatment option to resolve a number of issues associated with aging. Athena® is a choice for women who desire  to improve symptoms of laxity or loss of sensation, changes in sexual function and urinary stress incontinence.

What is Athena®?

Like all body tissues, the skin and muscles in your vagina weaken and lose elasticity with age. Aging in the vaginal area can lead to many problems for women that disrupt their daily lives and affect their intimate relationships.

Signs of aging can include:
• Pain or discomfort (burning or itching)
• Decreased lubrication
• Loss of sexual function
• Vaginal laxity or atrophy
• Reduced desire and arousalInability to orgasm or decreased orgasm
• Urinary incontinence (leakage)
• Overactive bladder (frequency)
• Overstretched or thinning vaginal wall

Athena® is a breakthrough treatment used to improve women’s lives through intimate wellness. The Athena® device delivers a noticeable tightening of the vagina for increased friction and pleasure during sexual intimacy, greater bladder control, and more youthful vaginal tissue.

Who can Benefit from this Treatment?

This procedure is indicated for healthy patients from the ages of 18 to 60 years.  It is an ideal treatment for genitourinary menopause symptoms, collagen stimulation and an increase in local lubrication.  It is also a treatment aimed at whitening and skin tightening of the inner and outer vaginal lips.

ATHENA® incorporates the world’s gold standard for LASER technology in vulvovaginal atrophy, vaginal dryness and urinary incontinence treatment. • It also treats flaccidity and darkening of the labia majora

Recovery and Results

ATHENA® treatments take only 30 to 50-minute in our office. Most women don’t experience any side effects during or after the procedure. In most cases, you can return to normal activity immediately following your session. It is recommended that you wait 7 days after your treatment before having sexual intercourse to allow the treated tissue to begin healing and start the collagen restoration process.

ATHENA® is safe, and results can be seen very quickly after treatments, versus other devices that take time to rebuild the resurfaced tissue. Proven clinical studies substantiate its results. Most women feel some improvement within a few weeks, with a noticeable improvement in sensitivity, tightness, and reduction or elimination of stress incontinence within six to twelve weeks. Your vagina will continue to age naturally, but the ATHENA® treatment is designed to last for at least a year, if not longer.

If the problems associated with vaginal aging are affecting your quality of life, it may be time to discover what the ATHENA® treatment can do for you.
